About us
InSyte AI is a credit risk, pricing and capital markets advisory firm for banks, credit unions, fintech lenders and private credit investors. We bring an operator's judgment to the decisions that move consumer credit: who to lend to, at what price, and who funds it.
How we work
Numbers first
Every recommendation comes with the math behind it, built so your team can rerun it.
Operator's view
We've owned the P&L, the funding relationships and the regulator conversations, so our advice accounts for all three.
Senior-led
Every engagement is led personally by our founder, from the first call to the final recommendation.
Public data, worked hard
Our research tools track consumer ABS trusts, BDC marks, bank filings and lender credit criteria, so we start from evidence.
Founder
Gaurav Agarwal
Gaurav has spent twenty years in consumer credit, the last seven as a Chief Credit Officer at fintech lenders. He founded InSyte AI to bring that judgment to lenders and investors who need it for a specific decision rather than a full-time seat.
His career has covered every side of a consumer credit deal. At Capital One he oversaw risk-based pricing for a $50B card portfolio and led product development for subprime balance-build strategy across 16 million accounts. At RBS he built a centralized credit analytics function and cut charge-offs by $10MM a year through collections strategy. At Citizens he led credit risk policy, loss forecasting and CCAR for a $50B+ consumer book, launched credit frameworks for products including the Apple iPhone Upgrade Program, and made the case for the bank's push into unsecured lending and fintech loan purchases.
As Chief Credit Officer at Monogram, a Carlyle-backed student lender, he restructured bank partnerships and built a valuation business for PE firms buying student loan portfolios, work that enabled more than $10B of securitizations. At Mikinok Enterprises he helped triple profits at a lender serving over a million underserved customers. At Happy Money he rebuilt credit, pricing and modeling infrastructure that supported 4x origination growth and new forward-flow capital.
Before credit, Gaurav was a research engineer building telecom switching systems, and he still approaches credit the same way: start from the data, and make the system work. He writes regularly about consumer credit, bank balance sheets and private credit, and discussed the LightStream sale on The Free Toaster News Pod.
How engagements work
Every engagement starts with a free introductory call to define the decision and the data. Scope and fee are agreed in writing before work starts.
